REV A
Effective August 31, 2026

What we collect when you contact us or order, why, and what we never do with it.

This policy explains what Eclectic Electric LLC does with personal information collected through theeclecticelectric.com.

The short version: we collect what we need to quote and build your project, we use it only for that, and we do not sell it, rent it, or add you to a mailing list.

1. What we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus basic technical data needed to run the site.

  • Work orders and quote requests: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and company; the project details you type; your budget, timeline and material selections; and, if you tell us, how you found us.
  • Files you upload: sketches, drawings, CAD files, photographs and artwork you attach to an enquiry, together with anything generated from a design you build in our tools.
  • Orders: your name, email address, optional phone number, and the shipping address you provide, plus what you ordered.
  • Accounts, if you create one: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store your password itself.
  • Automatically: anonymous, aggregated page-view analytics, and standard server logs.

2. How we use it — and what we never do

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, plan and build your project, take payment by invoice, deliver or install the work, keep records of what we have made, and meet our tax and legal obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not add you to a marketing list. We do not send you promotional email because you asked for a quote. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we run no advertising or social-media tracking pixels on this site.

If we ever want to use a photograph of your finished project publicly, we will ask you first.

3. Files you upload

Files you attach to an enquiry are stored with our cloud storage provider at a randomly generated address. That address is not published, not linked from anywhere on this site, and cannot be listed, browsed, or guessed.

It is, however, not password-protected: anyone who has the exact address — for example if a link were forwarded on — could open the file. We share those addresses only within the studio, and only to work on your project.

So please do not upload anything you would consider confidential, and never send us identification documents, financial statements, or account credentials. We only ever need drawings, dimensions, photographs and artwork relevant to the build.

We are moving this storage behind proper access control. When that is done we will update this section and the effective date above.

4. Who else handles it

We keep the list of companies that touch your data deliberately short. Each acts as our service provider and is permitted to use your information only to provide their service to us.

  • Vercel — hosts the website and provides privacy-friendly, cookieless page-view analytics. Their analytics does not track you across sites and does not build a profile of you.
  • A managed PostgreSQL database provider — stores enquiries, orders and accounts.
  • Cloudflare R2 — stores uploaded files and our media, as described above.
  • Resend — delivers our email, including your enquiry to the studio and account emails such as verification and password resets.
  • Stripe — our payment processor. We do not currently take card payment on this site; when we do, card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
  • We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

5. Cookies and browser storage

We use no advertising or tracking cookies, and there is nothing on this site from an ad network. We set only what the site needs to work:

  • Sign-in cookies, set only if you have an account and sign in. They keep you signed in and protect forms against cross-site request forgery.
  • Your shopping cart and any unfinished work-order draft are saved in your own browser's local storage so you do not lose your place. A work-order draft can include the contact details and project notes you have typed so far. It is cleared automatically once you submit, and you can clear it any time by clearing site data in your browser.
  • A few small flags remember, for the current tab only, that you have seen an intro animation and how your device is coping with the 3D graphics.
  • Fonts are served from our own site, so no third-party font service sees your visit.

6. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and project records for as long as we have an active or prospective relationship with you, and afterwards for as long as we need them for warranty, accounting and legal purposes.

We do not delete this automatically on a fixed schedule. If you want your information removed sooner, ask us and we will do it, except where we are required to keep a record — for example a completed sale, for tax.

7. Your choices and rights

Email info@TheEclecticElectric.com and we will action any of the following. We may need to confirm who you are first.

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must legally keep.
  • Ask us to stop using your information for a particular purpose.
  • Close your account, if you have one.
  • Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We honour these requests regardless of where you live, and we will never charge you or treat you differently for making one.

8. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing and are never recoverable in readable form. Access to enquiry records is limited to studio staff. Uploaded files are held as described in section 3 above, which explains their current limitation honestly.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but if a breach ever affects your personal information, we will tell you promptly.

9. Children

This site is intended for people old enough to commission fabrication work. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.

11. Contact
